  • Staten Island Contract Killing

In a high profile spousal contract killing on Staten Island, New York, the female defendant was acquitted of all murder charges in the shooting death of her husband but the verdict was under serious scrutiny in the community. The husband and wife involved were an affluent couple in Staten Island and the court appointed an attorney to represent the interests of their infant children in the estate. This attorney retained the services of George Scheld Investigations Inc to determine whether the wife was instrumental in the death of her husband. With no access to the district attorney file, Mr. Scheld had to conduct an extensive investigation including undercover work that took him deep into the criminal underbelly and darkest parts of Staten Island. Mr. Scheld was successful in gathering irrefutable evidence implicating the spouse in this contract killing. Found witnesses who were present during the financial transaction between the spouse and the individuals convicted in the shooting. Mr. Scheld additionally found witnesses who the defendants tried to hire to have her husband killed but who declined. On the eve of trial, the defendant opted to capitulate and forfeit her entitlement to the massive estate which instead was put into trust for the health, maintenance, welfare and education of the children. Double Jeopardy prevented the defendant from being retried criminally and she has been living her life as a free woman although her secret was irrevocably exposed through the diligent efforts of George Scheld.
